We began business in
Arizona as Smokaroma BBQ Supply in 1990.
Smokaroma BBQ Supply was the name of our retail stone in
Tempe. We sold a variety of quality BBQ equipment, BBQ
supplies and BBQ parts. We closed the retail store in 2003
to focus more on the construction business. We still
maintain the service department to this day. Additionally
for a number of years we owned and operated several
Smokaroma BBQ Supply
concession
locations within Paddock Pool stores around Arizona and Las
Vegas.
In 1993 we
received the first C-5 -BBQ Specialty - license issued by the
Arizona Registrar of Contractors as BBQ Builders to build back yard
BBQ's. As time passed, we were asked by our customers to serve more
of their needs in the yard. As a result, we obtained and still hold
a K-21 license (Landscaper, Commercial and Residential).
Although we do
all of the jobs you would expect a landscaper to do, we found our
niche in hardscape. In addition to BBQ enclosures and fire features,
fireplaces and fire pits, we do concrete, flagstone and pavers. We
do screen walls, raised flower beds and seat walls. We do
applications of stucco, tile and stack stone.
As a result of
our retail background, we have a very special relationship with the
installation, service and repair of BBQ grills and the related
enclosures. We started out building a simple masonry BBQ enclosure.
As time passed, the outdoor kitchen or entertainment center became a
large part of our business. Look into the BBQ's pictures section of

elaborate and complete installations.
ABOUT
OUR PRODUCTS
Our
construction method for BBQ enclosures, fireplace, etc is masonry.
We can build using any masonry material. Concrete block is our most
common product. However, we have built using brick, slump block and
adobe. We build your work in your yard one piece at a time. When we
are finished, the work is permanent. It becomes a very functional
and attractive part of the asset of your home.
We have done
some very attractive finishes on the outside of the enclosures using
stucco, tile, travertine, stack stone, granite and combinations of
one or more of the above. Be sure to check out the many different

no two are alike. We build a custom product specifically designed to
serve your needs.

Over the years we have developed a unique relationship with
fireplaces and fire rings. We have worked closely with Arizona
Fireplaces for many years. We use their products for the decorative
components of our back yard fireplaces. Their gas logs, mantles and
other decorative components compliment our structures beautifully.

QUALITY VS COSMETICS
We have participated in the Home Show market place since the early
1990's. In the last few years a product called a "pre-fab” has
joined the market place.
The
pre- fab is built with a metal skeleton and covered with a concrete
board skin. On the show room floor the pre- fab looks just like our
work. However, it has a definable useable life. It is built in a
factory and is delivered on a truck, usually with a crane. They sell
"portability".
One limiting factor to
the pre- fab is their product is built as a perfect cube. Most
surfaces in your yard are sloped to
move water away from the pool or the house, etc. Unless the sub
surface the pre- fab sets on is perfectly level, the top of the
cabinet will be as sloped
as the underlying surface.
Obviously, our product
when built on site, makes allowances for the underlying surface and
the finished top is perfectly level even though the height of the
support wall will vary from place to place along the sloped floor.
Without the use of malicious intent and a sledge hammer, our product
will last at least as long as your house.
TURN THE OUTDOORS INTO YOUR KITCHEN
In Arizona where you
are spending a large amount of cash every month to air condition
your home, there is a good deal of logic that suggests adding heat
to the home is not a
productive idea. The outdoor kitchen is a perfect alternative for
not heating the kitchen and fighting the AlC.
We have built
outdoor kitchens to include the grill, side burners, refrigerators,
warming drawers, storage cabinets, beer tappers, bar caddies, ice
wells, sinks and many other amenities.

We also have a
service department. We do
parts and service for BBQ grills and space heaters.
We are
an authorized service
facility for Alfresco, Beefeater, Capital,
Firemagic, Vermont Castings and Weber. We have done service work on
all brands of BBQ's and patio heaters for years. We service both the
"mushroom-roll around" and the wall mounted gas patio
heaters. We also offer a cleaning service for grills and heaters.
